ATP removes one more obstacle
to make the process even easier when switching
from a T3 or T4 turbo to a GT Ball Bearing turbo!
It's common knowledge that the GT Ball Bearing turbos (ranging
from GT25R all the way through GT35R) have a slightly different
bolt spacing on the oil drain port thus requiring a different
"drain flange" altogether when you switch from an
older T3 or T4 turbo to new GT ball bearing line.
Currently, if you are using a multi-part drain line assembly
consisting of a flange, fitting, and steel braided line, it's
easy enough to unscrew the T3/T4 drain flange and install
the GT
Drain Flange and you're done! However, like many OEM applications
that use the older T3 or T4 turbo models from the factory,
you may have a "one piece" oil drain line assembly
that can be very expensive to replace. For these cases, we
now have a simple solution!
Through another "keep it simple" design, we have
created a billet aluminum adapter and hardware that will allow
you to keep the entire stock oil return line assembly built
for the T3 (or T4) and allow it to bolt on to your new Garrett
dual ball bearing turbo without any fabrication work whatsoever.
The billet adapter is built from a CAD modeled design to
account for the differences required to mount the old line
to the new turbo and preserve the original flow requirements
(and allow proper drainage of the oil). An additional benefit
of this piece is it also accounts for the height difference
since the oil drain port on the GT BB turbos sits approx .495"
higher than the port on the T3/T4 turbo with respect to the
bearing shaft center point. This will allow for a true bolt-on
and perfect alignment
scenario in addition to the benefit of not having to create
a new line assembly from scratch.
Final product also eliminates the need for paper gasket through
the use of high temperature "o-rings" pre-attached
into the machined groups, further simplifying the installation
process.
